Aster – Hannah’s Conveniently Close Continental

“As someone who commutes into London from Surrey, one of the things that I can’t help but look for when choosing a restaurant is its proximity to the Southern/Southwestern railway network..! Aster at Victoria is one of my favourite places to get a drink or dinner after work with friends – whether it’s sitting at the bar enjoying a scrumptious cocktail listening to live music, or enjoying their nibbles and French/European style dinner menu. The vibe is fairly swanky but relaxed as well, so it’s a great place to meet clients, friends, partners, lovers, etc. and it’s a stone’s throw away from Victoria Station – perfect!” Hannah Reid – BOWER Operations

Brat – Emma’s Flavour of the Month

“I LOVE food and want to try every new restaurant that pops up in London. I’ve been trying to get to Brat for ages and my god it was worth the wait. The first time I was wowed by Tomos Parry’s cooking was at his previous restaurant, Kitty Fishers In Mayfair, since leaving KF Tomas has opened Brat in a converted pole dancing bar in East London. The restaurant is everything you want it to be, warm, atmospheric and with the gorgeous smells coming from the fire in which most the food is cooked over. Food critic, Jay Rayner called it “the culinary equivalent of an Anthony Hopkins performance” and I agree. I love a restaurant where you can sit with friends, order most things on the menu, share it all and then talk about how there was no need to order so much food. I’ve got 2 reservations coming up in the next month. It’s safe to say it’s my current favourite.” – Emma Hatto, BOWER Chief Executive Officer

Casa Tua King’s Cross. – Anna’s Intimate Italian

“Casa Tua is the perfect little restaurant for a casual dinner with a friend, or date night. The atmosphere is intimate but relaxed, the fresh pasta dishes are delicious, the glasses of wine large, and the staff lovely! ” – Anna McHugh, BOWER Project Coordinator

Chicama – Becci’s Peruvian Pleasure

“Chicama is a really lovely seafood restaurant in Chelsea. The menu has been inspired by the coastal food of Peru and the bold-flavours of Peruvian cuisine. This is a great place to have a fantastic lunch or dinner with your friends. The food is bursting with fresh flavours and the atmosphere is bustling with an open plan dinning and kitchen area. My favourite dish is the Ceviche and black squid ink rice, which you must try if you visit!” – Becci Mechie, BOWER Consultant

Location: 383 King’s Rd, Chelsea, London SW10 0LP
Nearest Tube/Station: Fulham Broadway
Good for:  work lunches & dinners, out with friends, parties

Enoteca Super Tuscan – Amy’s Hidden Gem

“This tiny Italian restaurant is close to, but hidden away from the bustle of Liverpool Street. They change the menu daily and the staff are incredible at talking through all the options, the pasta is incredible! It’s very cosy so suits a romantic date night, but during the day, as it’s so close to the City, it would be a different place to take a client for lunch. Did I mention the wine selection is great too!?” – Amy Boast, BOWER Consultant

Location:  8A Artillery Passage, London E1 7LJ
Nearest Tube/ station: Liverpool Street
Good for: Date night, working lunches

Grumbles – George’s Secret Staple

“Located in the slightly grubby back streets of Victoria station, this place is a real stalwart. Its menu hasn’t changed in at least 15 years (or probably ever) and consistently churns out excellent British/French dishes such as calves liver with mash and garlic snails for starters. However, it’s the clientele and atmos that really do it for me. Frequented by Politicians and Westminster types you can very often overhear whispered conversations and exchanges regarding the machinations of the Westminster set, which makes for fascinating eating. If I were a spy (who says I’m not..?) I would be there for almost every meal.” – Georgina Bale, BOWER Chief Operating Officer

Location: 35 Churton Street, Pimlico, SW1V 2LT
Nearest Tube/Station: Pimlico/ Victoria
Good for: working lunches, date night

Kaosarn – Laura’s Cheap & Cheerful Joint

“This family run Thai restaurant in the heart of Brixton is cheap, cheerful and the food is fab! It’s busy every night of the week and always has a great atmosphere! It’s also BYOB, which makes it a huge hit. Kaosarn is the perfect place to stop off for grub on your way home or meet up with friends.” – Laura Darroch, BOWER Team PA

Location: 110 St John’s Hill, Battersea, London SW11 1SJ
Nearest Tube/Station: Clapham Junction
Good for: casual eating, meeting friends

Tibits – Mel’s Healthy Hideaway

“I discovered Tibits at the beginning of the year when saving money was a high priority but I didn’t want to miss out on catching up with friends. Tibits is a self-service, vegetarian restaurant where you pay per weight for your food. I’m not a vegetarian but the food was delicious! Everything is homemade so it varies from salads, curry, quiche and the menu always changes. It’s great if you need somewhere quick to meet friends or colleagues during your lunch break but want the same quality as a restaurant!” – Melissa Smith, BOWER Executive Consultant

Location: 12-14 Heddon St, Mayfair, W1B 4DA
Nearest tube/station: Green Park
