The Team


Before BOWER Emma was a PA at the top of her game, always pushing boundaries and breaking the old-fashioned stereotype of what it means to be a Senior PA. Emma began her career working for a cut-throat high street estate agency where she got the backbone for her profession.

Emma then went on to progress her career in the property arm of the State of Qatar’s wealth fund. It was there where Emma became a skilled PA, quickly being promoted to the top of what was an extremely challenging environment.

Later, Emma made the move to a technology company where she was exposed to a fast-growing entrepreneurial business, gaining experience in how to run a business as well as the world of sales and acquisitions. Emma became a key player in the day to day running of the company.

Emma wants to work with talented support staff and to give them the opportunity to take the next step in their career and break the glass ceiling of what a typical PA can achieve. Emma believes that by working closely with both her candidates and her clients she can find the right person for the right role. To do this effectively, BOWER focuses on exceptional TALENT alongside the traditional skills and experiences of individuals, elevating both clients and candidates above the competition.


Before BOWER Georgina was a career PA working for a succession of very influential, UHNWs and demanding bosses. She began her career in 1999 working for a global hotel brand before progressing to one of the ‘Big Four’ accounting firms where she developed her understanding of the strategies and business culture of a changing and developing blue chip firm.

In 2004 Georgina moved to government to work for the Home Secretary and later as the Head of Resources for the Private Office, before moving back to the Private Sector in 2007. Since then, she has concentrated on more high-end private work and has managed several family offices and Principals based in London and all over the world.

Georgina believes that talented senior executive support staff need more opportunity to explore their limits and potential and that their roles can be expanded and progressed beyond current norms.

She is an expert within the industry and in pioneering new methods for matching, developing and teaching support staff. She is driven by her enthusiasm to be the best at what you do and way in which you can capitalise on existing talents, whilst creating and developing new skills and excellence for the future.

Melissa Smith, Executive Consultant

Melissa started her career with BOWER in 2016 as our EA and quickly progressed to take on more responsibility as Executive Consultant. Melissa has shown her excellence in sourcing, vetting, testing and evaluating candidates and now specialises in all of our junior roles across different industries.

Born in Scotland and raised in Australia, Melissa has exactly the right sort of worldly-wise that suits BOWER and she has a real input into the growth and direction of the company.

Melissa has a degree in Marketing & Communications from the University of South Australia and her experience to date has varied from a small, growing start-ups to a large PR company. We are delighted to be working with an ambitious talent like hers and are proud to have her on our team.

Amy Boast, Consultant

Amy joined BOWER as a Recruitment Consultant in February 2019 from a PA background that ranged from working for boutique start ups to large corporate firms. Her extensive industry experience means she is very well placed to advise both our candidates and clients on the best fit for them.

Amy studied for a degree in Geography at the University of Nottingham which fuelled her curiosity of the world and her love of travelling. She moved to Madrid for a year straight after her completing her studies and still practices her Spanish when she can!

London born and raised she prides herself on knowing all the best spots in the city. When she’s not working, Amy enjoys eating out, cooking new recipes at home and running half-marathons. We are thrilled that Amy has decided to put her PA expertise to good use in our recruitment team!

Rebecca Mechie, Consultant

Rebecca joined the BOWER team as a consultant in April 2019. Prior to joining the team Rebecca graduated from Oxford Media Business School where she gained a Distinction with honours in her Executive PA Diploma.

After graduating, Rebecca chose to work in Myanmar (Burma), whilst out there she worked as an Executive Search Consultant for one of the first Executive Search companies to establish themselves in the emerging market. She worked with a range of very highly successfully international and national companies, actively seeking out talented C-level candidates from around the world and placing them into new positions within Myanmar.

Rebecca returned to London where she has held roles as an EA/ Office manager/ HR Assistant in both the finance and recruitment sectors. Her previous experience as a consultant and in support roles for large and small businesses means that Rebecca is very well placed to provide a host of experience to candidates looking to develop their careers.

Anna McHugh, Researcher & Project Coordinator

Anna joined BOWER in September 2018 as our trusty Team Assistant. She is now Project Coordinator and Researcher, providing invaluable support to our consultancy team.

Anna grew up in Somerset before moving to London to do an Art Foundation Diploma at Central Saint Martin’s. She then went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at UCL.

In her spare time Anna likes to go to galleries, paint and read classical literature. Anna has also completed all grades in ballet and in her evenings you can find her enjoying a night out at the royal ballet. Being our youngest recruit, Anna also ensures that we are keeping up with the latest fashions and trends, and can always point us in the direction of the hottest new cafes and restaurants around town!


Hannah Reid, Project Manager & Operations

Hannah started with BOWER in June 2017 and after taking on more and more responsibility while supporting the team as an EA she was quickly promoted to Project Manager. Hannah is our data queen, she analyses client and candidate trends and advises the team on where to focus their energy.

Hannah grew up in rural Suffolk and pursued a degree in Music at the University of Leeds, specialising in arts administration. Hannah fell in love with planning and organising events, which is why she decided to pursue a career in administration.

Before she put her head down to climb the career ladder, Hannah spent two years globe-trotting around South-East Asia and working in New Zealand and The States. Hannah is the bubbly presence we need every day in the office and we’re delighted to have her on board!

Laura Darroch, Team PA

BOWER’s newest recruit Laura joined us in May 2019 as our trusty Team PA, ensuring that everyone is in the right place, at the right time, with the right information.

After graduating with a degree in fashion buying from Manchester Metropolitan University, Laura went on to work as a Buyer for various companies. She has now left the fashion world behind her to join BOWER, where the office enjoys her many insights into the world of fashion and upcoming trends!

Laura’s friendly personality and positive outlook make her a hugely welcome addition to the team, and we don’t know what we’d do without her!
